Our Opportunity

Our Group Financial Accounting Manager position is responsible for the accuracy of all financial accounting matters including statutory financial reporting and tax compliance. 

Providing strong leadership and mentorship to our Financial Accountants and Banking Supervisor, your hands-on approach will drive and inspire your team to successfully deliver business objectives while encouraging and supporting their individual development.

As a technically sound accounting professional, you will utilise your previous experience in tax and statutory reporting to provide support and guidance to the business as well as ensure our Group complies with current accounting standards.

With your collaborative and proactive approach, you will be highly motivated to achieve business outcomes, evaluate and establish improved processes and procedures and build strong internal and external relationships as part of your fast paced and varied day-to-day.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Provide leadership, coach and mentor your team members
  • Manage the Statutory Accounts, Tax Returns, FBT and GST for the Group
  • Financial & Management Reporting; manage month end and year end close process
  • Ensure Tax Compliance; review the preparation and accuracy of the FBT returns
  • Prepare detailed income tax calculations and supporting schedules
  • Support the maintenance of bank accounts, approvers, user accounts and segregation of duties
  • Review and approve payments including rent, stock purchases, foreign currency
  • Prepare weekly cashflow reporting
  • Financial reporting system; maintain and manage key components of the financial reporting system 
  • Process improvement and business support

Skills & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce
  • CPA or CA qualified preferred
  • Extensive accounting experience preferably in retail or similar environment
  • Previous experience in tax and statutory reporting role
  • Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge
  • Previous leadership and team management experience
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Collaborative, proactive and critical thinker
  • Solutions and business outcomes focused
