Our Opportunity
Our Financial Accountant will be responsible for assisting and managing compliance with regulatory & statutory requirements, including tax and reporting.
Reporting into our Group Financial Accounting Manager and part of our wider Group Finance team, this is an opportunity to continue to grow and develop your career within a supportive and collaborative team within the fast-paced fashion retail space.
You will play an integral role in the preparation of month end, monthly management reports and ideally have had exposure year end statutory tax compliance as well as general tax. Your previous experience within industry or mid-tier firm will support your success in this role.
With your proactive approach, you will be highly motivated to achieve business outcomes and build strong stakeholder relationships as part of your fast paced and varied day-to-day.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the preparation of annual reporting requirements
- Provide technical advice to the finance team and wider business, including application of AASB16
- Lead the preparation and completion of FBT and GST Returns
- Assist across tax compliance
- Assist in the effective management of the balance sheet
- Assist in completion of management reports
- Assist in process improvements, initiatives and projects
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Tertiary Qualification in Accounting or Commerce
- CA or CPA qualified or on your way to qualification ideal
- Experience in tax, statutory reporting or audit role preferred
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Collaborative, proactive and critical thinker
- Solutions and business outcomes focused
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
