Our Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team, based in our Cremorne head office. 
Reporting to our Group Financial Controller, this role works across our Group function and supports both our Accounting and Leasing teams. 
This is a great opportunity to join the retail fashion industry and continue to grow your accounting career. Ideally having some exposure or experience withing retail and/or property industries and in lease accounting, you will manage the lease accounting and rental payments as well as lead and develop our Leasing Payable Officer. 
Liaising directly with stakeholders across the wider business and externally, you will be a strong communicator with a desire to be hands-on and 'in the detail'. You will efficiently and accurately manage month end balance sheet reconciliations including all lease payments, and accounting for month end accruals, rental abatements, sales reporting to landlords, and detailed lease reconciliations. 
With strong attention to detail and a customer service focused mindset, you will be excited to join a supportive and collaborative team and have the opportunity to build strong relationships within a fast paced environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage rent and payment reviews and update systems
  • Maintain, track and manage store level rent accounts and provide reconciliations
  • Lead and coach one direct report 
  • Liaise with Leasing team and external parties, including landlords
  • Ensure month end balance sheet reconciliation are completed accurately
  • Adhere to AASB16 Leasing Standards and ensure all leases comply 
  • Perform all aspects of rent/lease accounting and administration
  • Identify, support and lead process improvement initiatives in systems NetSuite and LeaseEagle

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Commerce
  • Either CA or CPA qualified or working towards CA or CPA qualification
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills Experience in property or retail industry ideal
  • Experience using NetSuite and/or LeaseEagle highly regarded
  • Exposure to Lease Accounting highly desirable
  • Relationship building capabilities
  • Commercial acumen
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills
